MeetinVR 37: Further improving your VR Meetings with new features

MeetinVR 37 announcement

May 2025 – Last month we introduced a new version: MeetinVR 37. This version introduces a vast amount of new features to improve your VR Meeting experience. In this article, we will dive deeper into the changes and how they help you have effective meetings in MeetinVR.

At MeetinVR we have been focusing on improving our core features to make VR Meetings run as smoothly as possible. Over the last 2 years we have overhauled our web experience, the registration process, added object locking and added a tutorial room to help users get started quickly.

Text boxes

MeetinVR has always had a method to write down notes – small post-it notes that could hold simple text and could be moved around and resized for brainstorm sessions. Yet, we felt like we could offer a way to show textual content in a more advanced way.

The text box feature gives you the possibility to place any amount of rich, styled text in the environment. Giving you the ability to change the background color, text color, size and change its behavior.

Audio elements

For a long time now MeetinVR has offered voice chat and video playback for broadcasting audio to meeting participants. There was a demand for placing audio files into the environment for various means, such as providing background music, delivering audio samples for review by colleagues or just for comedic emphasis.

The audio element can be customized in multiple ways. First, you upload an audio file in your MeetinVR dashboard. After this, you can simply place an audio element in the VR environment and adjust some settings. Settings include making the file play automatically at a certain distance, hiding its icon, or making it a button the users can trigger themselves. And of course you have the option to loop the sound depending on your needs.

3D Model improvements

In addition to the existing 3D Model feature in MeetinVR, we have added an additional feature called the model pedestal. This pedestal acts as a location where you can place and present 3D models to your spectators.

The pedestal can automatically rotate the model, and you have the possibility to select an animation to display. These features will make it easier to show and talk through 3D content and animations.

New tools menu

To use these new features, we needed a place for you to easily find these objects. Therefore, we have revised the Tools section on the tablet in MeetinVR.

Object locking

Sometimes it’s useful to ensure your content placed in your MeetinVR rooms doesn’t get tampered with. Previously, you could lock all objects placed in your rooms in the MeetinVR dashboard. To give you more control, we have changed this functionality so that your admins can lock/unlock content on an individual basis.

New context menu

To configure settings and properties of these new objects, as well as lock and unlock these, we needed to rethink how you interact with these objects on a deeper level. Therefore we introduced a context menu, allowing you to set-up and configure your objects in a consistent way. Simply select your object, and a menu will appear showing all properties you can edit for that specific object in an intuitive way.

General improvements

Of course, an update cannot be complete without many bugfixes and slight improvements. Please refer to the changelog to see what improvements have been made.

We are excited to hear your feedback on this new version. MeetinVR 37 has been published on all supported platforms and should have been updated automatically. For more information, please refer to the links below.
